Today’s Zen thought of the day is…

“To follow the Buddhist path to enlightenment, there is no need to change our external lifestyle. We do not need to abandon our family, friends, or enjoyments, and retire to a mountain cave. All we need to do is change the object of our cherishing.”
– Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

In the yoga sutras to reach enlightenment, or pure awareness, you must not seek it. Cultivate pure contemplation through discipline and self study of sacred texts and ease the causes of suffering…. So you can surrender to pure awareness. Perfect discipline brings transformative change of thought and action…. And we become free in the knowledge of truth and release from ignorance… To find our true identity. (Totally used my notes from YTT for this)

I see these as one in the same. Neither path is a change in the external, but a transformative change of the internal… Which will cause a change to the external…. And then, through seeking knowledge and freedom, we remove the layers hiding our higher Self. As above, so below.

Free your mind and your ass will follow. πŸ˜‰

Love life and live it! Have a beautiful day, friends! πŸ’–
