I have been roaming LaGuardia since 4pm. I wanted a book, so I went to Hudson News. They didn’t have any books that particularly interested me and when i asked if there was a bigger bookstore in the airport she said no, but at the end of the terminal there was a slightly bigger Hudson News stand. So, I went there. I told the clerk I was looking for a nonfiction book to read, they had a couple more but still not quite my interests. This lady told me there was another, bigger book stand, Hudson Booksellers, down the hall, out of the terminal, and to the left. So, I schlepped down the hall, out of the terminal, and to the left. There was a small books shop, with several shelves of nonfiction. I browsed and picked up a couple of books to read the blurb. The lady working said there is another, bigger Hudson Booksellers, down the hall, down the escalator, and to the right. I put the books back, gathered my bag and jacket, and went down the hall, down the escalator, and to the right. Lo and behold, there is an actual book store, of reasonably decent size, with a dozen shelves of nonfiction, sorted by topic. It made me think of the old lady who swallowed the fly…. The tiny news stand, down the hall from the small news stand, down the hall from the small book shop, down the hall from the big book shop, and the smallest and biggest had no knowledge of each other or the links between them.

Irony: I ended up getting two magazines that were available at the first news stand. πŸ™„
